Privacy Policy

Uninstall on Mac (www.uninstallonmac.com) is a static, informational website. There are no user accounts, comments, shops or sign-up forms, and we don't sell or rent personal data. This page describes the small amount of information that is processed when you visit, and how to contact us about it.

The site is operated by the Uninstall on Mac editorial team. For anything related to this policy, email hello@uninstallonmac.com.

Three things, and only the first happens automatically.

• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information for each request: IP address, browser and operating system (the user-agent string), the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used for security, error diagnosis and capacity planning, and are kept for the period set by the hosting provider before being deleted or aggregated. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.
• Optional analytics. We may enable a privacy-respecting analytics service that counts page views and referrers in aggregate, does not set cookies and does not track you across other sites. If and when we do, we will name the provider in this section. Until then, no analytics script runs on our pages.
• Email. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to act on your request, and we keep it only for as long as that takes.

This site does not set cookies of its own, and it does not load advertising, social-media or tracking scripts. The blog section at /blog is hosted on a third-party platform and may set its own cookies or run its own analytics; that platform's privacy notice applies there.

We work with a small number of providers to run the site.

• Hosting provider: processes server logs on our behalf so that the site can be served.
• Blog platform: hosts the guides at /blog under its own terms and privacy notice.
• External links: guides link to app vendors' websites for uninstallers and documentation. Those sites have their own policies, which we don't control.

Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working; email is processed in order to answer your request. Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA apply to you, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your local supervisory authority. In practice we hold almost nothing: at most, an email you sent us. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@uninstallonmac.com and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires.

This site is not directed at children under 13, or the equivalent age in your country, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If we change how the site handles data, for example by enabling analytics, we will update this page and the effective date above. Changes take effect from the date shown and are not applied retroactively.
